Tethe'alla?

"Ahah! Hey bumpkins!
Greetings from the Chosen of Tethe'alla, Zelos Wilder! I'm sure you've heard of me."

A flick of his red hair and an arrogant smile.

"I'm pretty well known around these parts. Or I would be, if the landscape wasn't suddenly different.. My house still happens to he here, though. That's convenient, hn? Some of the Tethe'alla residents are still around, but everyone else looks out of this world. Perhaps from some country further south."

The look on his face is that of someone when they realize they're not in Kansas anymore.

For a second, that is. Then it's back to his normal grin.

"So um, now that I've gotten that out of the way.. have you seen the servant boys? You know, Lloyd and that half-elf brat? Kratos and my hunnies, too? Cute Colette? I need some familiar faces..!"

He turns his head slightly to the side, then turns to walk into his home.

"My door is always open, especially to any of you ladies out there."

With that said, he continues towards the house -- then pauses, thinks for a second, then turns on his heel, heading the opposite direction from the house and towards a few people.
Where was he, exactly?
Anywhere he could find wine?
Anywhere he could find girls?

Zelos is the Chosen of Tethe'alla, a world which lies parallel to Sylvarant. He appears to have quite a relaxed attitude to his duties as a Chosen, and doesn't take anything seriously. Born in Meltokio, a city where social standing is everything, he moves in the highest social circles. Zelos loves the company of women, and he finds himself in great demand with the ladies because of his title, looks and playboy attitude.

When Lloyd and his group arrive in Tethe'alla, Zelos joins them as a spy, by order of the Pope of the Church. He quickly becomes the comic relief, and his constant smiles and flirting cause the others not to take him seriously, or even pay him much attention.

So just what is this Chosen? The Chosen is one who will go on a journey to regenerate their world if needed. The regeneration allows mana to flow into that world, thus, it flourishes. There is one Chosen in each generation, and the journey they undergo is fraught with danger, the end result not being a happy one for the Chosen. The two worlds, Tethe'alla and Sylvarant, are in direction competition over a limited supply of mana. At the time of the game, Tethe'alla is the flourishing world, and Sylvarant is in decline, but if Colette completes her journey of regeneration, that situation will, in time, be reversed.
